Recycle your Wedding Guest Dress…
It is confession time here on Afternoon Espresso. I am so guilty for buying a dress as a wedding guest and never wearing it again. People have already seen me in it! I certainly cannot wear it to another wedding. The only time I do that, is if it’s an out of town wedding and there won’t be the same crowd of guests. I know, this is terrible, but somebody please tell me they do the same thing! The other thing about the wedding guest dress is that it’s more than likely dressier than I would normally wear out to dinners or other casual functions so it just hangs there in my closet. Sometimes I do sell them on Poshmark, which does make me feel a little less guilty.
Okay, so I’m done with all of the guilty feelings. I turned this wedding guest dress into something I can easily wear to a nice little date night with Joey. I layered this super casual cargo jacket {if you don’t have one yet, you need one for Fall} to tone down dress for a more casual vibe. I was inspired by the green in the dress and wanted to make it a little more noticeable by adding the Kendra Scott necklace and the jacket. The bright pink accessories were a no brainer with the beautiful print from this dress. I know this might be a little crazy, but to make it even more casual I would add some gold sneakers.
Abercrombie and Fitch Cargo Jacket // CeCe Dress // Ninewest Pumps (old) Similar // GiGi New York Handbag (Michael Kors) // Kendra Scott Necklace, Gorjana Necklace // Kate Spade Bracelet // Mac Candy Yum Yum
So there you have it. No need to just leave those wedding guest dresses just hanging in your closet, you can recycle them. Sometimes you just have to look at things differently 🙂
