Out with the girls….
So happy that it’s FINALLY Friday and I’m co hosting Friday’s Link up with Lauren from the Style Elixir and Jena from I’m Perfectly Human! Also- the perfect way to get your weekend started with a girls outing! My favorite day with my bestie is shopping at the mall, cracking up as we pick out things the other one absolutely wouldn’t wear, munching on popcorn from The Pittsburgh Popcorn Co., getting our make up done at Sephora… and naturally, some happy hour wine. When I head out for a day like this with the girls I like to be cute and comfortable, so I picked this floral skort {Yup, skort- a blast from the past huh?} and added my favorite jean jacket to break up all the pink and floral. I had to accessorize with this gorgeous Pink Peonies {I adore this blogger} Gigi New York handbag. I’ve been crushing on it since it came out!

Here is Ashley from The Grits Blog with her take on make-up and hair for a girls outing!
Girls night/day out is the BEST! For me it means a day of shopping, pampering, and girl talk. Including but not limited to – new shoes, a mani/pedi, and gossip. For these outings I don’t want to have to worry about my hair, so typically I wear it up. Of course, it can’t just be any hair style – it has to be chic, neat, and unique.
The hair style shown below is actually pretty simple to achieve. All you need to separate your hair like you are pulling it half up. Clip the top half and put the bottom half in a pony tail. Once you have that done, take the bottom and put in a bun. Lightly spray with hairspray to help set the bun. Then with the top half, tie with an elastic and create a piggy flip (you know – split the center, take the tail, and flip up through the split). Now take the flip and roll into a half bun – secure with bobby pins. Spray with hairspray and you are done!
For the makeup, keep it simple…unless it’s a night outing – then just amp up your shadow to a smokey eye, red lipstick, and top off with glitter gloss! Shown below is a day outing, lightly shadow your eye with a brown shadow, top the lid with a shimmery gold. Apply a peachy blush and top off with a neutral pink lipstick and glittery gloss.
