Maternity Photos with Merritt Lee Photography + 32 Week Bumpdate
I seriously love Mommy Mondays and today I get to share my maternity photos we had done by the super talented Merritt Lee Photography and update you on what pregnancy is like at 32 weeks! Yes, I said that correctly! We are 32 weeks along and I cannot believe it! Time is literally going by in lightening speed.
I was so excited to do our maternity photos with Merritt. We were originally going to do them in Paris, but you already know how that trip turned out. That vision was entirely different than what we ended up doing with Merritt, but I honestly couldn’t be more happier with how they turned out. I think Merritt really captured us and who we are as a couple. I also know that Joey was thrilled to wear sweats and a tee during a photo shoot.
I still have to share my baby shower with you! That’s coming soon, but one of the things I loved about the shower were these little origami stars that were made by my sister in law, Alaina. She had the idea to ask the guests to write down advice on a piece of paper. She folded them into these adorable stars so Joey and I can read and put in Baby P’s baby book.
Me: Oversized Sweater // Shorts // Lace Cami (Non-Maternity Version on sale!)
Joey: Calvin Klein Tee // Joggers
32 Week Bumpdate
How am I feeling?
I’m feeling pretty well these days. Of course, my back has been hurting toward definitely by the end of the day. It’s getting way more difficult to get up from the couch. Who knew how much you need your abs to do all the little everyday things?
My Body
I’ve struggled more with my body image during pregnancy than I really thought I would. Initially, you go through the phase of gaining weight and you really don’t look pregnant. All I could do was think, people just probably think I’m gaining all this weight and eating too much pizza because I don’t actually look pregnant. I honestly felt a little depressed a lot of the times. Then, I finally got a bump, which made me feel so much better about myself. It actually looked like I was pregnant. Now, this little baby is growing and growing and there is no question there is a baby in there!
Our Relationship
Even before we became pregnant, I was so worried about Joey and my relationship changing. He is my best friend. I loved our life and our relationship. I didn’t want it to change. This was a huge factor in why I was so nervous about having a baby. We have continue to have discussions with each other about what’s most important to us. I’m not naive. I know things are going to change with having a baby. In fact, things are starting to change already. I believe the key to these changes are embracing them together. Learning together. Growing together. I’m going to be honest at the risk of still sounding a bit selfish, but recently I’ve really been saddened by the thought of not being able to travel as often as we did or not being able to have our weekly date night where it’s just me and Joey. The spontaneous trips to the Caribbean will be few and far in between. I know it’s going to be okay, though. I will have Joey by my side as we explore our new life together with our new little love.
Workout Routine Update
Working out. Saying those words exhaust me right now, but I’m still doing it! I go to Orange Theory 3 days a week. I try to get one more day of working out in, but, truthfully, it doesn’t really ever happen. I am regretting not doing more yoga. It seems like I always plan on it, but something always comes up.
Exciting Things Coming Up
Soo… we haven’t started the nursery. I KNOW. This is 100% not my personality to do anything last minute. I’m being so indecisive right now, I don’t know where to start. I need to get it together, though. I am currently working on my hospital bag necessities so if you have any suggestions, please comment below!
