Let’s Go to Maui
By now you probably know we are in a different time zone soaking up some sun in Maui! I’m sure a lot of you have some great trips planned for the Summer, so I thought this would be a great time to tell you about some of my packing tips that I live by.
First off, there are some really good deals on luggage at the moment! I recently purchased Brics luggage because it’s super cute and I’ve read a lot of good reviews on it. It never goes on sale and it’s currently 30% off! I’ve never purchased luggage at this price point before, but I will say my less expensive luggage ( I’ve purchased at TJ Maxx) never lasts more than 2 years. I decided to take the plunge on “nice” luggage and see how it holds up. I’ll keep you posted on that. In the meantime there are some other really cute & affordable pieces that have good reviews linked below also on major sale.
Target Stripe Beach Bag // Brics Luggage 30″, Brics 21″ 30% off // (Similar Delsey Luggage ( additional 25% off at Macys) // Love this DVF Set (also additional 25% off)
Bag-All Private Stuff Travel Bags (More Shopbop Travel Bags)
I like to be organized when I’m packing. I found these cute little bags which are perfect to hold all my undergarments. It’s so embarrassing if security has to go through your bag and your panties are flying all around. These bags keep them secured in a neat place and will save you that embarrassment. Plus, it’s easy to put the dirties in one bag and clean ones in another.
Travel size essentials from Target ^^
Target always has the biggest selection for travel size essentials. It’s nice to just go there for mostly every travel item I would need. For items like my Pureology Shampoo, Conditioner, and Dove soap, I just buy these travel size containers and fill them with my normal size products. This is also a money saver because you already own your daily products.
I like to keep all of my bathroom essentials organized in one travel bag, (with the exception of makeup- that’s a whole separate bag!). I do this because if something spills in your bag, then it gets on your clothes and then what are you going to do? This bag has lots of compartments and is mostly plastic which makes for an easy clean up if something spills and it’s easy to have all the bathroom essentials in one place. Elizabeth and James Sunnies (Other Elizabeth and James sunnies at Shopbop )// Old Navy Scallop Swim (Under $40!) // (More scallop swim options at Shopbop) Stripe Sunhat (old) Kate Landry Version//
Of course, if you are going somewhere warm a sunhat, sunnies, and swim suits are a must. I like to pack one swimsuit for each pool or beach day and then a cover up or cute dress to toss over when I’m going in for lunch.
J.Crew Sweater // Stripe Button Down (old) Similar J.Crew Version ( On sale!) J.Brand Denim (Distressed STS Blue Version ($58) (Other J. Brand Denim at Shopbop)
No matter where I’m going, I always, always pack a pair of jeans and some layering pieces. I’m going to a new place so I never know what the climate will be like. Already, I’ve worn my sweater here in Maui because the nights were a little bit chilly!
Favorite Rag and Bone Shorts (Other Boyfriend shorts at Shopbop) // Madewell Crew Neck Tee // Forever 21 Stripe Tee
The basics always include a pair of my favorite shorts and some tee shirts. You all know Madewell is my go-to for tees and this year I’m really into the crew neck.
Keds Sneakers // Sole Society Wedges // White Sandals ($12!) // Rebecca Minkoff Stud Sandals (Other Stud Sandal Options at Shopbop)
I also like to take 1 pair of sneakers, 1 dressy sandals, one flat sandals, and then a trendy sandal. I like to keep them neutral so I can wear them with multiple pieces of clothing. I know 4 shoes seem like a lot. I could narrow it down to 2 if I really wanted to.
Thayer Dress (Other Thayer Clothing options at Shopbop)
Dresses are my go to when I’m going somewhere warm. They are easy and it’s only one piece of clothing as opposed to do. They can also double as a swim cover up, so to me it’s the perfect win-win!
