Kiss Me Sweater for the Holiday Season
I know I’ve said this before, but one of my favorite parts to having this blog are the photos and memories we have. I’m not going to lie, getting photos with a toddler is difficult and can really test our patience. I also have no shame in the fact that we use all the bribing techniques we can in order to get the “shot.” There are days where I feel like I just need to give up and not even bother. However, I never regret having the ability to look back at our little girl and seeing her grow through the years or reminiscing how little she use to be.

One thing I’ve learned since becoming a mom, the days are long, but the years are fast and there could not be a truer explanation for parenting. When I look back at these photos I don’t remember that Charlie wasn’t “cooperating” for the photo or that I didn’t like the way I looked. I see these photos and my heart melts and I’m so thankful I have them because, honestly, I wouldn’t take them because life.
These photos were actually that type of day- Charlie was so excited to take photos with both Joey and I so I thought for sure it was going to go so smooth! Boy was I wrong- I think I ended up sweating by the end of the hour that Julie, our photographer, was at our house. The last photo we did that day we decided to pull out the mistletoe because I was wearing this kiss me sweater. We tried to explain the concept to Charlie and her reaction to it was priceless- of course, we caught it on camera. Then she did the sweetest thing and said, “Mommy and Daddy you kiss.” Her reaction completely made my heart melt and those 3 minutes of this photo shoot just made the entire time worth it.
I admit, I am one to really find it difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel a lot of times, but when I do- it’s truly the best. Here’s to working on that part of my life a little more. Here’s to acknowledging that parenting is just really hard sometimes, and it’s ok to accept that.
