4 Tips To Finding the Perfect Present + JCPenney Holiday Gifts Under $50!
*This post is sponsored by JCPenney. As always, all opinions are 100% my own.
This past weekend I co-hosted the #JoyWorthGiving Holiday Event at JCPenney in the Ross Park Mall alongside gift expert Kristen from Cool Mom Picks. We both shopped high and low at the store for our favorite gifts under $50 and presented them to everyone that came! We even did several raffles as a sweet treat for the guests! If you didn’t get a chance to come out, we missed you, but not to worry today, I’m going to recap those gifts with you because they are all available online at JCPenney.com. I don’t want you to miss out on these amazing deals for the whole family! Besides, I know you still have at least a little bit of holiday shopping left…(I know I certainly do!)
One of my favorite things to do during the holidays is shopping for others! It’s my perfect excuse to splurge on my loved ones. I also love the game and the hunt of finding the perfect gift at the best price! It’s a challenge and I look forward to conquering it every year! How do you find out what the perfect gift is, though?
1. Stalk their Pinterest-
Bless Pinterest. It’s the best resource to find out what your friends and relatives are into these days. It’s basically a wish list of recipes, hobbies, clothing, etc. all in one place! You are for sure going to get some ideas on there. You can easily put together an outfit similar to a look on a Pinterest board or find out what their latest hobby is!
2. Start taking Notes Early-
Even in June, start making a list of things you’d like to get people and just tuck it away somewhere. I’m not saying go full force here on the holiday shopping, but it’s good to just have an idea. When you are on the phone with your mom or best friend and they casually mention something they’d like- jot it down! They will totally forget you had that conversation with them over the summer and be more than thrilled that you remembered!
3. Set Your Price Limit-
I give full credit to my accounting degree for this one! Set a price limit that works within your budget, otherwise it’s so easy to just keep spending on your favorite people and next thing you know you are stuck with a huge credit card bill in January. That is not a fun way to start the new year off.
4. Get Shopping-
This one goes without saying.. Get shopping! It’s time to share those deals I was telling you about earlier at JCPenney! I broke my picks out in 5 different categories, plus I had to throw myself in there and get a few pieces of clothing. Merry Christmas to me! 😉
The Sports Fan-
My husband Joey is a huge sports fan! It’s pretty much a given that I get him at least one sports related item for Christmas. I was surprised at the amount of official sports gear JCPenney has. The Ross Park Mall has every Pittsburgh team completely covered! It’s okay if you aren’t a Pittsburgh fan (I suppose), JCPenney has an entire Sports Fanshop for men, women, and children that has all the other teams from collegiate to professional, at great prices!
Penguins Sweatshirt (Original $60 SALE: $48!)
The Holiday Baker-
I technically fall into this category, but since we aren’t shopping for me (yet), this is the perfect package gift for my aunt or my sister in law. Everyone has a baker in their family, and my thought on this gift idea is that those baking sheets, cookie cutters, and oven mitts get used during this time of year! With all of the sales that go on, it’s the perfect time to replace some of those overused baking supplies so those bakers are well equipped for next year! (Perhaps I, selfishly, just want to be sure Aunt Kate’s chocolate chip cookies or delicious pies will definitely be at next year’s holiday party).

If you want to go in on a gift with siblings, there are great deals on Kitchen Aid Mixers!
For the Co-Worker–
This is my go-to gift under $20 for a co-worker or to use as a thank you for people that I really want to get something but at a reasonable price. Naturally, I have to incorporate coffee, but honestly who doesn’t love coffee? You can find really good deals on coffee mugs under $10 and toss in a $10 gift card to Starbucks! (JCPenney sells gift cards, too- it’s really a one stop shop!)
Coffee Mug // K-Cups
For the Beauty Guru–
My SIL is quite the beauty guru! She loves trying new hair products, styling tools, and make-up! JCPenney sells my favorite brand in styling tools, Hot Tools. You guys have heard me talk about this brand many times so I thought I’d snag this Hot Tools Styler this year for my SIL- originally $50, now $39!)
Hot Tools // Biolage Gift Sets // Sephora
You Can’t Forget the Kiddies-
How can we forget the kids?? We just can’t! I headed straight toward the Disney selection and found this adorable plush Olaf for $5.99!! I couldn’t get over that price. I also picked up these Anna and Elsa dolls for $19.99! Huge Deals. I don’t know a child who doesn’t love the movie Frozen! I have nieces and nephews in my family, but if you don’t have children in your family you could pick up some of these items for Toys for Tots!
Now… For my shopping!! I picked up these cozy little pajamas (of course they are coffee related) and I paired them with these socks that I’ve been wearing non stop around the house!
For a festive winter look, I picked up this St. John’s Bay puffer vest (which is exclusive to JCPenney) to wear over this cozy cable knit sweater!!
Other Favorites from St. John’s Bay
I also found this super cozy, oversized sweater just because I had a little extra in my budget!
All in all, this was a very successful shopping trip at JCPenney. Right now JCPenney is offering up to an additional 25% off all online orders plus free shipping over $49!
