How to Perfect Your Layered Outfit With J.Crew
Today, I’m going to show you how to perfect your layered outfit with one of my favorite retailers: J.Crew. Really, you can perfect a layered look at any retailer, but I always awe at how well J.Crew layers their models in their fall and winter magazines and try to draw as much inspiration from them. They look so put together, but almost in such a way that it appears effortless. Some of their iconic ways of layering would be the traditional sweater under a puffer vest, a nice striped long sleeve under a sweater under a coat, or like I’ve done with this button down shirt and a classic blazer. I wanted to take this look a little more on the trendy side by adding a bandana around my neck. You’ll even notice in some of the photos below I went NYC style and draped my blazer over my shoulders. I have to be honest about this one though, as much as I love draped over the shoulder look, it’s so not feasible to deal with for a full day, plus some angles really can make me look wide!
As it starts to get colder, I would actually add a long peacoat or trench over top of what I’m wearing for an additional layer of warmth. You can replace the bandana with a cable knit scarf and pop on some gloves.
