How would you like to skip the grocery store and have your groceries delivered directly to your home? Let’s sweeten the deal and even have them put directly in your fridge. This sounds like an absolute dream to this busy Mom! I am thrilled to introduce you to Walmart InHome. This service delivers fresh groceries right to your fridge, even if you aren’t going to be home. Walmart just launched this service right here in Pittsburgh and I’ve been testing it out for the last few weeks. This has become a HUGE time saver for our family, especially with the holidays quickly approaching. Less time at the grocery store means more time as a family.
I am sharing all the details with you plus my go-to chili recipe that I can whip up for guests during the holidays using all the items from my first Walmart InHome delivery. BONUS: DISCOUNT CODE BELOW.
Groceries Delivered to your Fridge with Walmart InHome
How It Works
Easy Installation – Once I decided this was a service that I knew would be beneficial to our family, we set up our account and scheduled an appointment with Walmart to come to our house and install a smart device to our garage door. (You can also opt for the device to be installed on your front door.) This smart device allows the Walmart Inhome associate to deliver your groceries straight to your fridge. This whole process took about an hour. While the installer was here, I was able to go step by step on how to order my groceries, ask any additional questions I had regarding the delivery process, and go over any concerns I had.
Security – Of course the number one concern I had (and I’m sure you might be thinking right now) is security. You are allowing someone in your home. Walmart InHome has it covered and I feel confident allowing this service to take place in our home. Walmart does very thorough background checks on each of their employees and requires an associate to be there for at least a year (ours was a Walmart employee of 14 years!). In addition to this, you can actually watch the delivery from your smart device as it’s happening! The deliverer wears a camera that you have live access to so you can see everything that’s happening in your home when you aren’t there.
There are also added levels of security measures to ensure this process is seamless. If the deliverer’s camera is not recording, the smart lock will not allow them access to your house. Also, the smartlock entry is only good for one entry per delivery window.
Walmart also insures your home for up to $1 million in damages, so if any incidentals may happen, you will be covered.
Constant Contact – Walmart InHome is constantly in contact with you about your delivery. They give you a notification about your order, any changes, and when it’s going to be delivered. They also will notify you when your deliverer is at your house, opens your garage door, and when the door is closed so you know exact details throughout the entire process.
Why I Love It
Easy to Use – The app you download to order groceries is so easy to use. Everything is separated by department or you can just search for an exact item that you are looking for. You add to your cart and once your list is complete, you place your order.
Bonus – There are a few key items I’d like to note that are bonuses to this delivery service, with number one being, if you forget something in your order you have until 1 AM to continue adding to your order. THIS WAS LIFE CHANGING. I forget things alll the time so having this ability was an absolute game changer for me.
Another bonus is the app actually keeps your cart. If I run out of something I immediately pull up my app and add it to my cart so when I go to make my order, it’s already in my cart ready to go!
More Than Groceries – Another game changer. I can order so much more than groceries! I have the option to purchase diapers, household items, cleaning supplies, personal care items, and I even added a few of my Walmart beauty favorites like Flower Cosmetics.
Cost Breakdown
If you sign up with Walmart InHome your first month is FREE. Every month after that is $19.95 a month with unlimited deliveries per month with a minimum delivery of $30. There is a one time installation fee of $49.95 for your smartlock device. To be completely honest, I was paying about $10 a week for other delivery services, so this already is saving us money.
Overall this has been such a great experience and time saving service for our busy family! Walmart also gave me a special discount code to offer to you! Get $10 off your first order when you enter code “INHOME10“. Be sure to let me know if you end up trying the service out for yourself! I’d love to know your thoughts!

You'll Need...
- 1 Sweet Potato
- 1 Medium Onion
- 1 Red Pepper
- 1 Jalepeno Pepper
- 2 Cloves Garlic
- 1 lb Ground Turkey
- 1 Bay Leaf
- 2 Tablespoons Cumin
- 2 Tablespoons Chili Powder
- 1 tsp Cayenne Pepper
- Salt to Taste
- 32 oz Chicken Stock
- 16 oz Frozen Corn
- 1 Can Black Beans
- 1 Cup Quinoa
- Optional Toppings:
- Tostitos
- Shredded Cheese
- Sour Cream
Directions
- Drizzle EVOO in a large pot over medium heat. Dice the onion, jalapeno, red pepper, and sweet potato and drop into the pot. Cook for about 7 minutes. Mince the garlic and add to the pot with the ground turkey. I like to add my spices at this time so the vegetables really develop flavor. Add the cumin, chili powder, cayenne pepper, and bay leaf. Cook the turkey until brown and completely done. Add crushed tomatoes, chicken stock, black beans, corn, and quinoa. Bring pot to a boil. Once it's boiling, bring down to a simmer and cover for about 20 minutes. Top with your favorite chili toppings and enjoy!
