We Have Some Big News! Gender Reveal: We Are Having A…….
Happy Easter weekend! What are your plans for the holiday? Joey and I are going to be traveling this weekend so be sure to tune in on my Insta Stories to see some of the adventures we get into over the next few days (@ashleypletch3).
Everyone has been asking… so I guess it’s about time to do our gender reveal. It seems like we’ve been holding on to this little secret for quite some time now! To us, the time has been flying by! Any guesses what we might be having??
Well, it’s official! We are having a……
Me: Dress c/o Chicwish (comes in Navy Print) // Marc Fisher Espadrilles // Michele Watch // J.Crew Bracelet
Joey: Asos Blazer // Vineyard Vines Button Down // AG Denim // Wingtips
Baby Girl!!
Did you guess right?
I honestly think ever since finding out the gender, it really made this pregnancy feel real. Although, there are certainly a lot of things that made this pregnancy feel real {insert nausea, exhaustion, oh and a rapidly growing belly}. For the most part, I am still in disbelief that I’m going to be a mom. I’m actually going to be a mom and our little girl is going to be running around saying, “Mommy and Daddy.” It just melts my heart already thinking about her.
Very early on in the pregnancy I had an extremely vivid dream of me nursing this bright eyed little girl. Obviously, I’ve never nursed before in my life, but this dream was so real, almost like deja vu as if it happened at some point. I felt like I had a hunch that it was a girl from that point on, but I didn’t want to become set on having one gender over the other. You guys know I’m such a planner and my Type A personality would have kicked in with a moment of panic. Don’t get me wrong, I would have been just as happy with a boy, I just didn’t want to get set on having one or the other so I just kept telling myself we just have to wait to know for sure before I do any planning!
Joey said he knew the whole time it was definitely going to be a girl. He is honestly so thrilled about it. I see him with our nieces and friends’ little girls, and my heart becomes so full watching how much he cares for them. He is so patient and will entertain any girly thing they ask him to do! I don’t have a single doubt in my mind that he is going to be such an amazing father.
I cannot wait to continue this journey with our baby girl!
Busting Some Old Wives’ Tales
Of course we did a few tests of some of the age old wives’ tales that supposedly reveal what you are having. To our surprise, some of them were signs pointing to a girl, but there were definitely some that leaned towards a boy. It was fun trying them out, anyway!
-
1. Heartbeat
According to the old wives’ tale, if the baby’s heartbeat is measuring over 140 beats per minute, it is said you are having a girl. Our little one’s heartbeat was 146 BPM the first ultrasound!
-
2. Location of the Fetus
Apparently, depending on the location of the fetus during your initial ultrasound can determine if it’s a boy or girl. Our little girl was located on my upper, left side in our ultrasound. Now, she likes to nestle herself in my lower right side. Here is a full description of the Ramzi Theory.

3. Blood Pressure
- According to the wives’ tale, the higher the mom’s blood pressure, the more likely it is a boy. My blood pressure usually runs a little high normally when I go to the doctor. I get anxiety every time I go to the Dr.’s office, so when my blood pressure read “Excellent”, that was a good indication we might be having a girl!
Happy Easter to you all! I hope you have a wonderful weekend with your families! As always, thank you for your love and support as Joey and I continue on this journey to parenthood <3 <3

Congratulations!!!! Girls are so much fun and I love having a girl as my oldest- she’s like a mini mommy (by her own choice) to her baby sister and brothers. It’s adorable. Such a fun reveal! ❤️❤️❤️
