My Favorite Summer Staples to Kick off the Season + Giveaway!
It’s extremely rare that I will say this, but the weather in Pittsburgh lately has been so nice! It’s mostly been sunny skies and the perfect temperature for nights on the patio. I’m kicking off Summer with my Summer staples I think are good to have in your closet!
My Favorite Summer Staples
I really love these pieces because they are simple and can be mixed and matched to create different looks. I also mostly stuck to a neutral color palette for many of these items, just to keep them that much more versatile. Here are a few of my favorite combinations, and I’d love to hear which pieces are your favorites!
Summer Look #1:
Oversized T// Boyfriend Shorts// Hat// Sneakers
This first summer look is relaxed and perfect for sunny days! I’ve been obsessed with these 90s boyfriend shorts from American Eagle lately, and they truly look great with any kind of t-shirt. Funny story, I actually always steal Joey’s white tee shirts to wear around the house. It drives him crazy because it’s almost always a guarantee that I’m going to spill something on them. Aerie is pretty much genius for coming out with these oversized tees! For accessories, this tan hat is so adorable, and everything is effortlessly tied together with a pair of white sneakers (which can really be worn with any of the following looks as well)!
Summer Look #2:
Side Knot Dress// Jean Jacket// Sneakers
For this second look, the main piece is this darling jersey side knot dress; I chose a neutral color again for the versatility, and the cut of this dress allows it to easily be dressed up or down! In this case, all you have to do is add a jean jacket and those same white sneakers for an easy throw-on style! The best part, this dress is actually a dupe of super popular designer for ONLY $18.
I always stress the importance of owning a jean jacket as a closet staple because it truly can be work 3/4 of the year! I basically am under the mindset of you can’t own too many denim jackets. If you don’t own one, THIS one is my latest addition and probably my favorite right now! It’s a little oversized, which I love and the color is perfect to wear with ANYthing.
Summer Look #3:
Midi Dress// Jean Jacket// Sandals// Sunglasses
I absolutely love wearing dresses in the Summer months! They are the easiest outfit to put together, so I find myself buying them more this time of year. This beautiful midi dress is perfect for a dressier outfit, but it can still easily be paired with items from the other looks for a more casual outing. In this instance, I styled it with a pair of Steve Madden sandals to keep it on the dressier side and also added a jean jacket and a pair of rectangle sunglasses.
Summer Look #4:
Joggers// Ruffle Bodysuit// Birkenstocks// Adidas Hat
This bodysuit is especially cute with its ruffle trim detailing along the neckline! I layered these Abercrombie joggers on top and finished everything off with an Adidas baseball cap with rose gold lettering (such a nice detail) and a pair of white Birkenstocks for an easy breezy summer look!
I would definitely say that my Summer Staple vibe this year gears more to casual. Maybe it’s just where I am in my life, maybe it’s partially due to the pandemic and everything else going on in the world right now, but to be honest, I’m here for it! What’s your go-outfit during the summer months?
