Farmhouse Inspired Family Room

You asked and now I’m answering! One of the most commonly asked questions I get is about our house! I’m always getting asked to share more of our home or simply where certain things are from, so I decided to go ahead and take this opportunity and start doing just that. I’ll be a little honest here, a lot of times I don’t share my house because it’s usually a mess- not dirty a mess, but I have things everywhere. Since having Charlie I’ve gotten in the habit of just tossing things on the countertop or couch, and, yes, sometimes the floor- surely I can’t be the only one.

Anyway, after living in our house for 7 years already (I’m not sure how that happened), I have an endless list of projects to accomplish. Last year, when I was preggers, I tried to get everything done at once and that was certainly a huge mistake. It also didn’t result in the completion of anything but Charlie’s nursery. This Summer I made a list of a few projects I want to do and first on my list is our family room! It’s a room that we actually never touched. We used all of the old furniture from our last place and I honestly never even hung anything on the walls! It’s been a little bit of a challenge for me because it is large so I don’t know what to do with the space.

My second challenge that I have is the style I want to go for. I actually like allll the styles and so I have a hard time just picking ONE style. If I had to describe my style inspo for the family room it would be farmhouse chic – industrial-glam – with a touch of boho. Yes, all of them. That’s the beauty of home decor, it can be whatever you want it to be! I would definitely say that the basis of our style is farmhouse inspired, with a touch of everything else.

Funny story- I actually bought this exact couch- unfortunately, the color just wasn’t what I was expecting in person. It almost had an orange undertone- which definitely doesn’t go with the vibe.
