Coffee Date #1
It is finally Friday! Who is relieved?! I am and I’m also excited to introduce to you “Coffee Talk Friday” sessions. Each session I plan on updating you on various combinations of things like what’s been going on with me for the week, what I’m shopping for, what I’ve been doing, where I’ve been eating, or random personal things like this list of things to do to embrace the holidays! It’s basically like we are chatting in a coffee shop, like old friends. If there is something you want to see on here or know, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me!
I made a Fall Bucket list a few months ago, and life caught up with me so I didn’t get to complete it, but it was so fun trying to! I really want to try to complete this one. I’ll document each one on Instagram with the #EmbracetheHolidays so you can follow along or participate too!
The Holidays can get so crazy and the next thing you know it’s January and you are thinking to yourself, “what just happened?” I am such a list person, so I decided to make a list of things I know that I will enjoy doing and try to accomplish them throughout the season. This way, I’m making sure I’m taking time out and enjoying what’s going on around me.

Our Next Adventure
We will be off to the happiest place on Earth… Walt Disney World! It’s so funny when people look at me like I’ve lost my mind when I tell them we are going to Disney. It’s honestly one of my favorite places and during Christmas time, it’s extra magical. I love being able to feel like a child, racing to ride all the rides, oh and eating food that I probably shouldn’t eat anymore.. but it’s too good. Disney has some of my favorite staples like Dole Whip, funnel cake, and the best Mexican restaurant I’ve ever eaten at, La Hacienda! The fact that the parks now have Starbucks is just a bonus. I have said this over and over, it’s definitely a trip to take even as an adult.
Crushing on Plaid
Okay, this one is no surprise to you… I’ve been wearing plaid non stop and I keep wanting to buy everything plaid. Here are my favorites!
Holiday Prepping
I’ve been trying to get the house ready for Christmas. I made some great progress right before Thanksgiving, but now I need to put some of the final touches up. I think the hardest thing for me this year was decorating my tree with my Mom’s glass ornaments from when I was a child. I’m so happy that I have them because they are beautiful, and I know how much my Mom loved them, but I think that’s what made it so difficult. Over Thanksgiving Joey encouraged me to make it to mom’s gravestone. I decorated it with some garland and a hanging candy can wreath, which actually made me smile. I’m very lucky I have Joey as such a strong supporter of me.
Back to decorating…
A few tips for Decorating
- Pick a color pallet, and stick with it throughout your house
- Don’t expect to have every single room decorated. It takes time to accumulate Christmas decor.
- Get crafty and make things- they become more sentimental
- Buy at the end of the season for the following year. ( I like to stock up on all of my bows, wrapping paper, tags, and boxes)
Here are some of the items I’m decorating with this season!
I hope you enjoyed this first little session of Coffee Talk… Let me know your thoughts!!! I hope you have a wonderful weekend! To make it even better, here is a giveaway for you!
