Everyone loves a good chunky sweater! I fell in love with this bold red color because Valentine’s Day is right around the corner! It’s all hearts and flowers over here! Plus let’s be real, they are super cozy and comfortable for lounging around the house or out for a casual day of errands. Any excuse to wear my converse sneakers is always a plus too!
What are your plans for Valentine’s Day? Flying solo? Hot Date? So over it?
I love any reason to celebrate, but I especially love celebrating love! Call me cheesy, but it’s so fun! Anniversaries are my favorite but Valentine’s Day is right behind that! We actually try to something different for Valentine’s Day instead of the standard let’s go out to dinner so I came up with 5 ideas for a unique Valentine’s Day date night!
- 1. Make Dinner at Home- This is actually one that Joey and I have done for several years. It’s not very often that I get Joey in the kitchen to cook with me, but I can always talk him into it on Valentine’s Day. Break open a nice bottle of bubbly and spend the evening cooking with your little love bird. I always try to cook something that is special that I would normally not make on any night of the week. Spend some extra time and make cute heart shaped cheesecakes from scratch for dessert and splurge on some lobster tails or a nice filet!
- 2. Take Dance Lessons- How romantic would this be?!? I’ve always wanted to take dance lessons with Joey! It’s the perfect time to bond and laugh over who has two left feet!
3. Splurge on a Weekend Getaway– You know me. Any excuse to travel, I’m going to make it happen! Honestly, sometimes all you need is just a weekend away from it all to unwind, relax, and allow yourself to just enjoy true quality time with your loved one away from the every day distractions and stressed of life. Look up a local resort like Nemacolin or a cute bed and breakfast like the Inn on Negley for a nice romantic weekend away!
4. Dinner & A Show- Ditch dinner and a movie and go see a play or musical! Pittsburgh has a huge variety of shows on the weekly basis. It’s the perfect little date night! You could even opt for a comedy show- which is always a blast laughing so hard with your favorite person!
5. Plan a Day full of Sweet Surprises– Awww this is just my favorite… Strategically plan a day full of sweet surprises for your significant other. You don’t have to spend a ton of money on this one, but just be strategic and call in all the help you may need. Leave a little note in his lunch box, put a note in the driver’s seat of the car, send a surprise order of Shari’s Berries for the middle of the work day, have a co-worker put a cute picture of you together on his desk at work, pre pay for his daily coffee at Starbucks. The possibilities are endless, but it’s a sure fire way to make your loved one feel super special!
