These days, I am all about trying to make my life more simple! Sometimes, I really overcomplicate things because I’m picky or it’s just in my nature to make things more difficult than necessary, so I’ve been searching for solutions to simplify things for myself in order to free up some time. When BISSELL reached out to me to try out their new BarkBath, I was very interested in learning more about this product. After doing some research on the BarkBath I thought it was a no-brainer to try it out. Here are 5 reasons why you should try it out too:
1. Portable Design
The BarkBath is a powerful, compact machine that is light and easy to move around so you can wash your dog anywhere as long as you have an electrical outlet and a towel handy.
2. Saves You Time and Money
Ever since we added Wrigley to our growing family, our grooming bills have become quite the expense. Truthfully, I was a little naive about how much work his adorable fluff would be. Actually, a lot naive. We take him to the groomer every 3 weeks and the cost is usually $85-$95 with tip. Additionally, I’m particular about groomers and refuse to switch to someone else so it’s a 30 minute drive one way, which equates to two hours out of the day when I have to take him there and pick him up.
Because of Wrigley’s curly fluff, there is no way I can avoid not going to the groomer, but my plan is to cut down on grooming visits and money by using the Barkbath to extend my time in between each grooming session from 3 weeks to 5 or 6 weeks. For dogs with straight or less maintenance hair like our little Bentley, I can see the BarkBath being the perfect tool to ultimately save a lot of time and money throughout the year.
3. Saves Water
I was actually pretty skeptical when I initially saw the size of the tank of water when I pulled the Barkbath out of the box. I thought, how can this little container wash all of my 72 pound Goldendoodle?? To my surprise, it actually did. You can wash up to an 80 pound dog with 48 ounces of water versus a standard tub or bath that holds about 19 gallons of water! That’s a huge difference! We all might not be perfectly eco-friendly, but I believe we can all try in a lot of little ways that will make a huge impact on the environment!
4. Easy to Use
The compact design of the BarkBath makes it easy to use in any part of your house or outside. You simply add water to the left side and the BISSELL No Rinse Shampoo into the hose attachment, plug it in, and it’s ready for use. Just press the power button and it’s ready to go!
With the machine setting on shampoo, you brush the dog with the handle and the trigger pulled to release the shampoo treatment. Switch the machine setting to rinse, and repeat the previous steps. Once you are finished with a section, using those same brush strokes you slide the BarkBath handle over the wet area and it suctions the water up, similar to a vacuum. The water travels to the right side of the BarkBath, where you can easily empty and clean afterward.
5. Little to No Mess
As you know, we are currently in the middle of a house renovation, so we had no option of trying out the BarkBath inside. After using it for the first time, I’d be more than willing to use it inside. There were definitely some splashes on the floor. Of course, Wrigley had to do a few shakes, but in comparison to trying to get him in and out of our bathtub, the BarkBath provides little to no mess at all. Remember, you are only using 48 oz. of water versus 19 gallons! That’s a huge difference in water splashing around your house. If your pup is a shaker like Wrigley is, I would lay down a towel during the whole process.
The result: one clean, happy pup and one happy consumer with a little extra time on their hands!
