Happy International women’s day- today and everyday. I was at the coffee shop today and a woman was asking me about some of the baked goods and homemade syrups and without a hesitation she was like, “do you even sleep?” The answer is no. In fact, I don’t. I’m mostly stressed 24/7 and thinking about the list I have to do that never gets smaller and if I’m not thinking about the list I’m actively working on it. I would say my mid thirties have been a time where I have really felt the weight of being a woman. The expectations we put on ourselves, the expectations society puts on us, juggling and managing our households, careers, families, while trying to fulfill our needs within ourselves and let’s not forget about self care and constant wondering of what people are going to think if I do this or that. It’s e.x.h.a.u.s.t.i.n.g. We need to be soft and nurturing but fierce and a force to reckon with. We make endless sacrifices and at times do some of the most thankless work. Sometimes I don’t even know how I manage- and sometimes I truly don’t manage well at all. But here is a little reminder you beautiful woman- Let’s never forget we ARE fierce. We ARE strong. We ARE resilient. Let us always uplift each other. Let us always cheer each other on. Let us always give each other grace. Most importantly, let us always empower ourselves and each other to be the best version of ourselves.
